Questions people ask

Is compounded semaglutide FDA-approved?

No. The FDA's own wording is that compounded drugs are not approved by FDA and do not go through its premarket review for safety, effectiveness and quality. Wegovy and Ozempic are the approved semaglutide products. If that matters to you, price the brand route too before you sign up.

Can pharmacies still make it now that the shortage is over?

The FDA declared the semaglutide shortage resolved on February 21, 2025, and the grace period for compounders ended in April 2025 for 503A pharmacies and May 2025 for 503B outsourcing facilities. The programs listed here still sell it, often as a personalized dose or with an added ingredient such as B12. Our legal-status guide explains what that means for you.

Why does the same program show two or three prices?

Most publish a lower rate for prepaying three, six or twelve months and a higher month-to-month rate. Some add a membership on top or charge more at higher doses. Each card shows the headline figure; the review spells out what a normal month costs, so check it before you pay for a long plan.

What does 503A on a card mean?

It is the kind of pharmacy that fills the prescription. A 503A pharmacy is a state-licensed pharmacy compounding for an individual patient; a 503B outsourcing facility makes larger batches under FDA registration. A program that names its pharmacy lets you look that pharmacy up yourself, which is worth doing.
