My first question would be what the prescription actually contains; my second would be what the membership adds to the medication bill. What Hims currently advertises

The current page lists Wegovy pills from $149/month and Wegovy pens from $199/month, for medication only. A required membership costs $39 for the first month and automatically renews at $149/month. The membership does not guarantee a prescription, and service is not available in every state.² Those medication floors are not verified maintenance-dose quotes. Ask for the price at your prescribed dose, the offer's duration, and the next renewal charge before subscribing.

Older articles about Hims often describe compounded semaglutide. Keep that history separate from the branded products now advertised. A branded Wegovy prescription and a compounded semaglutide prescription are different products, even when both involve semaglutide. Compounding: what the FDA change means

FDA resolved the semaglutide injection shortage on February 21, 2025. Its temporary enforcement periods for shortage-related copies ended in April and May 2025. Patient-specific compounding can still be permitted under applicable conditions; that does not make routine copies or every customized offering lawful. Compounded drugs do not undergo FDA premarket review for safety, effectiveness or quality. FDA has reported serious dosing errors involving compounded injectable semaglutide.⁴ For a compounded vial, ask the dispensing pharmacist to confirm the concentration, prescribed dose and matching syringe markings for that exact vial. Do not use Wegovy pen instructions to measure a vial dose. If the label or directions are unclear, resolve that with the pharmacist and prescriber before injecting. Is Hims worth considering?

Hims may be worth comparing if you want online care and accept a separate recurring membership. I would compare the first invoice and the renewal invoice with a prescription through my existing clinician before deciding. Ask for the cancellation deadline and whether medication renewals stop automatically when membership ends.
