Is JRNYS worth it? The short answer
Our verdict
Start with JRNYS if you want the brand-name pen and have insurance that might cover it: its providers work the prior authorization, and coaching runs every two weeks. The membership pays for care, not medication, so ask what the drug will cost you before paying, because that first fee is kept once a doctor reviews you.
- Good for: You want brand-name Ozempic or Wegovy, not a compounded version
- Look elsewhere if: You are paying cash and want the medication price before you pay anything

Price, as published
$89 + membership
A membership of $89 to $169 a month, depending on how much one-on-one coaching you choose; the medication is billed separately.
Full pricing details
Brand-name Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound are filled at a pharmacy: JRNYS says most commercial insurance should cap a GLP-1 near $25 a month after the deductible, and self-pay medication pricing is set after the provider consult. The first $89 telehealth fee is not refunded once a doctor has reviewed your profile.

Where this comes from →What it does well, and what to watch
What we like
- Prescribes brand-name Ozempic and Wegovy, so you get the FDA-approved pen from a pharmacy
- Its providers work the prior authorization, and it says commercial plans should cap the medication near $25 a month after the deductible
- One-on-one coaching every two weeks is part of the program, with more coaching on the higher tiers
- A provider reviews you within 24 hours, and follow-up messages are unlimited and free
What to watch
- The membership is not the medication: the monthly fee buys care, and the drug is a separate cost you only learn after the consult
- The first telehealth fee is not refunded once a doctor has reviewed your profile, even if you never fill a prescription
- Prescriptions go to your local pharmacy or to home delivery, and no dispensing pharmacy is named
- Cancel at least seven days before the next billing date; inside that window there is no refund
Who JRNYS suits, and who should look elsewhere
A good fit if
- You want brand-name Ozempic or Wegovy, not a compounded version
- Your commercial insurance might cover a GLP-1 and you want help with the prior authorization
- You like structure: regular weigh-ins and a coaching session every two weeks
Look elsewhere if
- You are paying cash and want the medication price before you pay anything
- You want a low-touch plan without weigh-ins or scheduled sessions
- You want compounded semaglutide, which it does not offer
How JRNYS works, start to finish
JRNYS Wellness, Inc. runs the platform; its terms say it is not a healthcare provider, and independent licensed providers do the prescribing under founder and chief medical officer Dr.
More about how it works
Henry Legere. For semaglutide it prescribes brand-name Ozempic and Wegovy only, and it also lists tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound and a compounded tirzepatide microdose), liraglutide and dulaglutide. Prescriptions go to your local pharmacy or to home delivery; JRNYS does not bill insurance itself but works the prior authorization. Programs follow six- or twelve-month plans with weigh-ins three times a week and 20-minute coaching sessions every two weeks, and the membership renews monthly or quarterly.
- Share your health history and goals online.
- Pay the first membership fee; a provider reviews you within 24 hours.
- Within one to two days, your provider sets your medication and dose plan.
- In three to five days, pick up the prescription locally or choose home delivery.
- Start the program: weigh in three times a week and meet your coach every two weeks.

Questions people ask about JRNYS
Is medication included in the JRNYS membership?
No. The membership covers visits, coaching and monitoring. Your Ozempic or Wegovy is a separate cost at the pharmacy, set by your insurance or quoted after the consult if you pay cash.
Does JRNYS bill my insurance?
Not directly. Its providers send the prescription and handle the prior authorization, and your pharmacy bills your plan. JRNYS says most commercial plans should cap the drug at a small copay after the deductible.
Can I get compounded semaglutide through JRNYS?
No. For semaglutide it prescribes brand-name Ozempic and Wegovy only. The one compounded product on its weight-loss menu is a low-dose tirzepatide.
Can I get my first JRNYS payment back?
Not once a doctor has reviewed your profile, because that fee pays for the review. Cancel more than seven days before renewal and the rest of that cycle is refunded pro rata.
Why would JRNYS prescribe Ozempic for weight loss?
Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes, and JRNYS says its providers may prescribe it off-label for weight loss. Wegovy, the same molecule, is approved for weight loss, so ask which one your coverage favors.
